Newport Beach Dental Office Remodel: Its More than just Aesthetics – its about Vision, Purpose & Standard of Care
Our office was closed for two weeks as we remodeled the space with new flooring, countertops and the state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment.
Dr. Dana Rockey assumed ownership of the Newport Beach dental office in December 2015 as Dr. James Vogel announced his retirement.
“In December our priority was for me to get to know our patients while making the transition as seamless as possible for our patients and staff”, Dr. Rockey said.
Rockey explains, “The remodel of the (dental) office is part of our plan to bring the highest Standard of Care to Newport Beach for the benefit of our patients – this includes increased diagnostic and treatment ability by introducing new equipment and tools that will allow our staff to identify periodontal bacteria and inflammatory markers, diagnose Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) and other disorders, identify genetic predisposition and deliver the hightest quality in preventative, restorative, cosmetic, implant, sleep and laser dentistry.”
In short, these upgrades allow us to fulfill our purpose and goal of delivering the highest quality dental care in proven and progressive ways. We do that by approaching the health care of our patients from a “wellness” perspective – helping patients to achieve and maintain optimal health – versus being reactive, and in essence, only treating sickness and disease.
“Too many patients have come to expect that bleeding gums, inflammation, and increases in the measurements of their gum pockets from year-to-year are normal conditions. They’re not.” Rockey says. “Dentists who tolerate these conditions are simply nursing sick people and are not serving their patients using the latest and most advanced health care treatments and standards that are available today” he continues. “There is a significantly better approach to dentistry and dental care – some call it ‘Dentistry 2.0’, I call it ‘wellness-based dentistry’.”
While the office is closed, Dr. Rockey and the staff will be meeting in Laguna Beach for intensive training in oral-systemic health, sleep apnea and airway issues, conditions that cause pain, nutrition and JuicePlus+. The staff will also be trained on the new diagnostic and treatment equipment and a new computer system that encompasses digital imaging and advanced digital medical record access and storage.
After 30 years of practicing dentistry, Dr. Rockey feels that he has more energy and excitement today than he did when he first started his career as a dentist. He notes, “I came to Newport Beach to teach health and wellness, to make a positive impact on the health of my patients, and to be a vocal leader in dental treatment. We’re just getting started.”
Rockey goes on to say that he will be adding articles, videos, and resources to his website (www.DanaRockey.com). Additionally, Dana Rockey DMD will soon offer seminars to patients and others who want to learn more about health, wellness and nutrition.
The office reopened on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 and an open house event is being planned for April.
